About Dr. Shantanu Deshpande
Dr. Shantanu Deshpande is a senior Interventional cardiologist with an illustrious career. He completed his MBBS from Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai in the year 1995. He did his post-graduation from T N Medical College and Nair Hospital in the year 1999. He stood first in University in the said examination. He completed his training in cardiology At Grant Medical College and JJ Hospital in the year 2003. He was awarded Gold Medal in DNB cardiology examinations at all India level. He has more than 23 years of experience in the field of cardiology. He had worked at various hospitals like Bombay Hospital, and Fortis Hospital.
He specializes in Complex Coronary interventions via radial route. He is an expert in Rotablation and IVUS imaging. He gets invited as a proctor to various institutes in the country for the same. He also specializes in Pacemakers and balloon treatment of valve diseases of the heart. He is currently the Director of the Cath lab at Dr. Godbole Heart Care Hospital in Thane. He started the first structured PAMI program in Thane, meaning doing angioplasty in patients with a heart attack in the stipulated time interval. More than 95 % of heart attack patients were treated by the same within 90 mins of arrival at the hospital. He had the honour of delivering lectures and case presentations at various national and international forums.
